The View From Here – After a Winter Storm

Dust of Snow

The way of a crow – shook down on me

The dust of snow – from a hemlock tree

Has given my heart – a change of mood

And saved some part – of a day I had rued. – Robert Frost

In spite of the (dire) storm warnings, the lethal ice that lurking beneath that “snowy mantle”, the closures and cancellations and being held hostage by my impassable driveway, it really is very beautiful out there…..  IMG_3083  This photo was sensibly taken from the warm side of the glass.  Somewhere under that snow drift is my cold-frame, and in that nicely insulated cold-frame kale, carrots and lettuce are growing…..

Nope!! We’re not coming out today!  Call again another day….

I think I’ll stay in too, for a little while anyway…

It’s not so bad.

What a beautiful landscape after the storm… I hope your veggies in the garden are planning a spring revival soon! And your chickens did the right thing by hanging out inside their coop…
The view from your warm home is spectacular as is the orchid that reminds us of vibrant spring !!!
You’ve shown the pretty side of winter.. It reminds me not to be so grumpy about it !!

Hi Lia! Thanks for the lovely comments. I was pretty grumpy myself the night if the storm, but it was so bright and beautiful in the morning that all was forgiven. 😀
This are bird tracks that you see in the snow ….. Although I spotted plenty of other tracks as I surveyed the place – notably rabbit, deer & fox. I wonder what exactly goes on out there at night? Happy weekend to you!!

Oh I would’ve been grumpy too… But it’s true that the results of the storm are so pretty that I guess we can forgive Mother Nature:)
Yes I too wonder what kind of animal party goes on at night! Animal tracks are always so intriguing to me:)
        Happy Sunday !!!
