Doors of Academia UVM

The University of Vermont, founded in 1791, is one of the oldest universities in the United States. I had the pleasure of walking around this campus on a gloriously warm June day.

I learned that John Dewey, of the ” …education is not preparation for life.  Education is life…” fame is counted amount their noted alumni.

Here are just some of the doors:

I remember walking around there a few years back but oddly none of these gorgeous doors and entrance ways stood out. I guess I wasn’t as well attuned to doors as I am today.
    Great finds Janet 🙂

I have a friend who lives in VT – and the history there is pretty amazing – and the opening bell photo is my fav – but the up view with the grill on steps is very cool – all are!

Thanks! I was only in Burlington for a couple of days, but I must say, it left a very positive impression.

Yes – we only drove through that area – such a nice place – and nice to see some doors from there….

I agree! Must be very inspirational. And, I think, the surrounding geography must help, too.

What a beautiful university. I love libraries so I’m interested to hear that John Dewey went there.
