Janet, they are lovely. I have tried time and again to grow hyacinths with no success. I’ll just enjoy yours this year. ๐Ÿ™‚

What a stunning picture of a flower I have grown since childhood, when I recall gravely putting them in the dark cupboard under the stairs where resided all our coats and the maidโ€™s cleaning accoutrements sometime in Autumn and the delight of being allowed to bring them out into the light and watching daily the accelerated growth and flowering in time for us to embrace Spring and Easter and all the eggs and lambs and blossoms they always bring! Thank you for the memories – I still do the same when I am in one place for the duration of Autumn into Spring ๐Ÿ™‚

Do – it feels great! As great as visiting our Maison catastrophe over the weekend to deliver things to store there for an 18 month sojourn, of which news soon and seeing the narcissi that I bought here in Grenoble last year in a pot and planted out in October in full and triumphant bloom. Flowers are not just delicate and pretty, they are life itself and a keen reminder of the beauty of breath.

A keen reminder of the beauty of breath. Beautifully and perfectly descriptive ๐Ÿ’• Particularly true of hyacinths.

That quote is so true and I had never even realized it until I read it
