Old Town Doors

Lunenburg sure packs a lot of architecture into a small space. Here are just a few of my favourites from one block:

Love everything about this house! The lines, the dormers, the colour … and those doors!!

A red door, though! Gets me every time.

And a garden door …

Big enough to say “door”, but small enough to be inviting. The slate stone step is perfection!

I’m a sucker for red doors… and to see one hidden behind black doors is wacky, but cool. Nice photos.

So many lovely historic old buildings in that place, it’s a festival of great doors 🙂

I love that deep blue-gray colour – a steel gray?
… and the doors behind doors!

    Lots of history here!

Me too!! That colour is gorgeous. A credit to the folks who are restoring (renovating?) the house.

All lovely. Are the double doors to keep out the cold?

    • JanetRimmington July 14, 2018 / 12:41 am

Yes. Those double doors ARE designed to keep out the cold. Also called ‘storm doors’. And the do work!

And that glorious view! Imagine standing in your doorway looking down the street to the water – just wonderful.

Wonderful… old doors have a charm of their own. Is it Lunenberg as in Nova Scotia? It is a colorful city. Really loved it.

Yes, indeed. It’s Lunenburg, Nova Scotia. My favourite town. And so many great doors!

I love the red lining on that black door …. like a very expensive dinner jacket with some extra panache! And that first house …. I would fight you for that house – it is absolutely gorgeous in every way. Now I want to see inside!!!

    • JanetRimmington July 14, 2018 / 6:59 pm

Haha!! No need to fight. I’ll share it with you. But, yes!! I’d love to see inside, too. Intriguing!
